I saw something about it on the imdb boards....the poster had a link to dark horizens. Does anyone happen to any details beyond that its going to be 30 minutes longer with more sex and violence?

I hear Oliver Stone is combining "Troy" with "Alexander" for an eight-hour Director's Extravaganza Epic. It will be in a thirteen-disc set.

I don't detect any sarcasm at all in that response. NONE. :p

maybe then we can sit through troy and Alexander for the first time without being bored to death... i wanted to like them, but... you know you've seen them, there both very unbearable to see more than once a year, because by years end you forget how bad they both are as narrative films so you take a three hour tour and remember how bad they are, but at least troy has some exciting action sequences...

Hmm, but really, is there any truth to what was asked?

I just found this- - EXTERNAL LINK -

Of course, I'm not saying this makes it for sure thing, but I'd like to see this, because I for one liked Troy.

Well, for any who are interested, I did some digging up of my own, and apparently Wolfgang Peterson and Diane Kruger went to a premiere to promote the upcoming director's cut. It will be released theatrically in Germany on April 19. - EXTERNAL LINK -

That's a link to Germany's yahoo movies on the film.

And this, is the official site in German, and it clearly talks about the Director's Cut-

So, I suppose all that's left now is when we'll get a DVD release in the States. I know some people have a problem with this film, but I'm greatly looking forward to this, and who knows, it could make it a better film. Again, I'd love news/speculation on the U.S. release.
