Nikkei Shimbun Apr 7, 2007 eveing - Toshiba Corp claims Daewoo Electronics for the DVD patent violation.

We should know Toshiba Corp 'the thief' doesn't pay other's patents. For instance, to Nano-proprietary Inc and to Lexar Media Inc.

- EXTERNAL LINK -

Toshiba Corp has filed a complaint against a unit of South Korea's Daewoo Electronics and 16 other companies for allegedly violating its patents related to DVD recorders and players.

Toshiba has asked the commission to investigate Daewoo Electronics America Inc. and 16 other companies based in the United States, China and Hong Kong.

I can't see - EXTERNAL LINK - but I can see - EXTERNAL LINK -

16 other companies are Dongguan (Group?) (China), GVG Digital Technology Holdings Ltd (Hong Kong), jWIN Electronics Corp (USA),
Memcorp Inc (USA), Starlight (Group?) (Hong Kong) and Tonic (Group?) (China and Hong Kong).
I hope they will win the morbid thief.
