How well do the upconvert players work? I'll soon be purchasing a DLP TV and while I can't yet justify(to my wife) the purchase of an HD or Blu-ray player, I hear that these upconverts do the trick. I am also aware that getting the optimal resolution will require an HDMI cable. At least I'll already have one when I finally get my HD player. Unfortunately, I have to be budget consious while still being able to support my habit. Also, feel free to elaborate on any HD TVs. I'm trying to stay under 50 inches, and I hear that for the money, DLPs are a good buy. Space isn't really an issue, as we're buying an entertainment center and most that we've seen will house a 50 inch. Thanks!!!

This probably won't help with the wife, but Tosh's HD-A1 is the best upconverting player I've seen yet. I have another Tosh SD DVD player which upconverts to 1080p, but it doesn't compare at all. I've also heard on this forum that the Oppo player rocks pretty hard.
