Hey S Coaster, maybe he was trying to hint that the hd player was the only financial option for him at the time. He did mention a rich friend that he talked to about an hd player. Let's face it. Blu-Ray players are just too expensive for the average family man right now or anyone trying to live off of a reasonable middle class budget. Let's suppose you had a daughter getting married, car note, house note, trying to raise another child possibly, trying to pay for your children's college tuition, medical bills, etc. And you want a blu-ray player. Right now your only cheap option is a ps3. $600 + $50 tax +$50 to $60 for a warranty. And you haven't even bought a movie yet. $700 is alot of money for someone trying to live on a budget who doesn't live by themselves or can't afford to put everything on a credit card. You basically have to go into debt just to get a blu-ray player. I just wish Sony would think about this and release affordable merchandise. And yes I realize there is a cheaper blu-ray player coming about later this month. $500 +tax +warranty is still about $600. That's alot of money. If you had a daughter getting married I'm sure the last thing on your mind would be a format war anyway.

I've been saying that for the last year. The real question is how did the topic of "Pirates 3" get turned into a Blu-ray discussion? Can we stick to the topic of how crappy the movie was?
