As my wife and I were driving through the Napa Valley the other day and passing the Coppola Winery, I thought of the movie memorabilia Coppola used to have on show there. Then I thought of Paramount's auction a year or so back of all their "Star Trek" properties, and of the guy a few years earlier who bought most of Fox's "Alien" props.
The idea struck me: What movie costume, scenery, or object would I most like to own if I could have anything of my choice from any movie ever made? One of the original "Maltese Falcon" statuettes? Judy Garland's ruby slippers from "The Wizard of Oz"? The knife Anthony Perkins wielded in "Psycho"? One of Captain Jack's gold teeth?
For me, it would be Luke Skywalker's light saber. I saw this prop, an exceptionally detailed piece of craftsmanship, mounted on display in George Lucas's house at Skywalker Ranch, and I must have drooled over it and several other light sabers and such for a good five minutes.
What about you? Any favorites?
John

this is too easy for me...but it comes down to a few things. i went looking for any of these online but never found them.
the needles from Dark City
the rain coats from Brotherhood of the Wolf
the fuan's head from Pan's Labyrinth
the predator's head
Tim Bisley's comic from spaced.
the crazy looking deer head from Evil Dead 2
the hammer from Oldboy
either the main characters guns from Saraphim Falls
the Cronos device from Cronos
a robot from I, Robot
and im sure i could think of more, but thats some of the stuff i would love to get my hands on.

I would love to have "Teddy" from A.I. - Wonderful film and he plays a great role in it.

For me it would be one of the original models of the Millenium Falcon used in Star Wars. If I couldn't get that I would ask for one of the AT-AT's used in The Empire Strikes Back Hoth scene models and if that failed I would love the Super Stat Destroyer model used in I think it was Return of the Jedi. I saw one of the Super Star Destroyer models and it was HUGE.
John did the Luke Skywalker Lightsaber have a blade like the Master Replica ones or was it just the handle itself? I would love to have seen that.

Great thread, John.
Favorite prop? Sheesh! That's a heavy one...
What defines "prop"? If we're not constrained to things that are simply models, I would love to have the Delorean from "Back to the Future." I would also love a Terminator Endosekeleton and an Alien costume from either "Alien" or "Aliens" (always liked these iterations best). Then there's a RoboCop costume from the first film, Han Solo's blaster pistol, Darth Vader's Tie Fighter, certainly the Millenium Falcon like Falcon was listing, and I would love both the models for the Reliant from Star Trek II, and the Bird of Prey from Star Trek III and IV.
I'm sure there's more that I can't think of right now, Santy Claus, but I'll write another letter soon.

Just the handles, the ones you see dangling from Luke's and Obi Wan's belts. I guess the light-blades were added in post-production. Ah, but what precisely, intricately detailed handles they are! They look so real, you feel like you could press one of the buttons and a laser light might really pop out.

I'm trying to think of something non Star Wars or sci-fi related and one thing that comes to mind is the Bride's Hattori Hanzo samurai sword from Kill Bill.
Also, all the Alien models would be cool and especially the machine/contraption that Ripley gets on in the final fight scene from Aliens.
