the titles are billed as "special collector's editions" (those words appear on each disc's cover art), and the backs even list the extras found on the sd dvd special editions. guess what? they don't have extras, and they just start playing automatically like "top gun". it was clear from the get-go that "top gun" wouldn't have any extras, but in this case, we have false advertising. demand a recall!!!

Looks like Paramount, with their HD DVD releases [except for TRANSFORMERS] is resembling the similar Blu-ray releases from both Sony and Fox that lack the same SpEd extras included on the standard DVD versions.
I got the TOP GUN & THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER SpEd DVDs late last year for under $10 each (new/sealed), so obviously will pass on the HD-DVDs for either (and the other Jack Ryan sequels) unless they show up somewhere for under $10 also. Just not worth the upgrade [well, except for "Red October", which I've recently viewed in HD on cable, but still I'll pass for the HD-DVD unless on sale sometime].
