For the Canadian content here's some good news This article is in todays Toronto Sun

http://www.torontosun.com/Money/2007/10/20/4590933-sun.html

Quote:
Diane Brisebois, president and CEO of the Retail Council of Canada, said some of the association's members have discovered they are being charged 20% to 50% more than their U.S. counterparts for the same goods.

There's more at the link but hopefully this means that Home Theatre equipment and movies will be cheaper in the near future

I'm thinking the XBOX 360 Elite will drop in price over here which will be nice. Boxing Day is gonna be a treat!

Ironbull...they're craking down on the cross-border shopping apparently and making everyone they catch pay the taxes. I believe it may still be worth it (depends where you live) but then you have to consider travelling expenses (gas, food, etc) also. Also I was told yesterday that the wait to cross the Niagara Falls border was 2 hours last weekend. If that's true I personally wouldn't bother but again it depends what part of the border you're going to cross and how much travelling you have to do.

EDIT: Also don't forget if you're buying in the U.S. you may have issues with the warranty. I read in the paper about someone buying a car in the states cause it was so much cheaper but when he got it here they told him the warranty would not be honored. What a shaft! So yeah whether its cars, electronics, whatever...make sure you consider the warranty aspect.
