I just watched Batman Begins, now thats a WOW factor. The picture was ridiculous( thats a good thing ) and the sound was amazing. Chris Nolan hit it dead on, as he does in all his movies. Now there is an underated director. As much as I like Spiderman 2, I thought Batman Begins was much better. And when The Dark Knight comes out next year, I am sure it will be a sure fire hit and another masterpiece from Mr. Nolan.

Yeah, much better than Transformers Mr. Biker. LOL! See how good a film can be when it doesn't rely on a ton of CGI. Plus it's nice to see a comic book film that can be serious without all the cheese. I loved Batman Begins and I'd have to place it at #2 in my top ten list of super hero films. Its just an all around, well made movie.

Yea Tim it was a great serious comic book flick ( wait did'nt daredevil try to be serious LOL) Anyways, I just hope Nolan follows the original Dark night story. ( I am sure he will) In that story Batman carries an M16 slung over his back and that is way cool. Remember he is technically a Police Officer. I cannot wait until next summer for The Dark Knight. Tim what is your number 1 Comic Book Moive???

Well, there are many that would not consider it a comic book movie, but I do since the theme itself is closely tied to the comic book genre. My #1 pick is “Unbreakable”. I love the sense of discovery and how the elusive plot unfolds step by step. Many will say it’s too slow but I found it mesmerizing and an interesting film in character study. The hero has no idea he’s a hero, or the man that is helping him to discover who he is really is his nemesis. It’s a great film that works on acting alone and literally nothing for CGI and that’s certainly something you can’t say for comic book films.
As you can see, I don’t like a lot of cornball cheese or fluff in superhero films, yet many of my top ten picks have the cheese because you just can’t get away from it. Some people still feel the old Superman films stand the test of time where I would disagree. I tried to get through the first Superman over a year ago and couldn’t stand the cheese, not to mention what effects they had in those days looks horrid by today’s standards. Oh well, it’s all opinion based in the first place.

I never thought of Unbreakable, and I thought I was the only person who liked that movie. I am a BIG M. Night fan and yes it was a great flick. I think alot people are tired of being dooped by him in his films. But I also think it is a jealousy factor that he has a mind like no one else. It was like Chris Nolan in Memento. Who by the way like I said before is a way underated director.

well i will agree Batman Begins is one of the best hero comic films. Wouldn't quite say Nolan is underrated. Don't get me wrong he is a great director. But if you look around his films are appreciated by film fans. go on imdb and all his films have high marks and 3 (memento, batman begins, and the prestige) are all on the top 250 for what thats worth. and his other two films are good to though i liked the following more than insomnia.
As for my favorite comic book movies. now these are often over looked in the comic book film catagory but they are in it. The Crow and Oldboy. not really super hero films but comic films. Dont know why the Crow is overlooked so much it was one of the films to get comic films going again next to blade. ya spiderman hit it huge but those films didn't do too shabby either.
Speaking of Unbreakable i just bought the two disc version a few weeks ago. great film. forgot about it for a bit there. Unbreakable and the Sixth Sense are still my favorite M. Night Shyamalan films.
Also have to mention Blade 2 and Hellboy as a couple of favorites just because i love Guillermo Del Toro. One of the few directors who can actually get me to go to the theaters here. Now got Hellboy 2 coming up which should be fun.
but the more i think about it i can't pin down just one favorite comic film...

In my opinion Batman Begins is the best comic book movie (does bluray even have this movie yet?? LOL). In second place place I would say is Superman Returns. Before Tim and Eddie start torching me...I know you guys thought it was lame. I thought it was good EXCEPT Kevin Spacey. He ruined the movie for me. He was not convincing as Lex Luthor at all to me and he certainly didn't seem like he could be a threat to Superman (plus I thought his acting all around sucked in this movie).
Anyway I'm actually looking forward to the Dark Knight which is a first for me to be excited about the second instalment of a comic book movie. I've been so disappointed by spiderman, the Hulk (although I'm curious about Hulk 2), Elektra, Daredevil...
