So what happened to Pixar?
Their last great DVD release was The Incredibles
, in a 2-disc collector's edition, with the movie in one disc and the extras on the other...so what happened
?
What happened with Cars' single disc release? And now with Ratatouille's single disc edition? The extras are a short, deleted scenes and a mere 15 min. featurette that is a kind of 'interview' with the director....come on
!!! What do y'all think? Am I wrong?

mvckalel,
This usually happens because they probably plan on releasing a two-disc set later on that will have all the extra goodies you would expect to have on the first release. This is commonly refered to as "milking the cash cow" and the studios hope you will double dip on the same movie. If you really are the kind of person that wants all the goodies, it's best to just wait it out for the special edition. Remember this, never buy the first edition, especially with popular hit films. Rent and wait is your best bet for your pocket book.

I'm curious: what is it about the movie which qualifies as "lame"? It's good, clean (pun intended) fun, excellently animated with wonderful voice talent (particularly Peter O'Toole). I can not wait to get my hands on the blu ray disc.

Yes, you are right. Heck, to think that the same thing is gonna be with blu-ray!! I mean, we've been waiting for the collector's edition of Cars....and we'll wait some more...along with Ratatouille...

Jason,
It's unclear in this thread if people are criticizing the movie itself or the lack of extras on the DVD.
