I'm a bit confused about the HD Audio Codecs. I love all the Dolby True HD Tracks I've heard since I got my A1. However my main question is about bitrates. According to Dolby's Website DD+ is UP to 3 MBPS and True HD is UP to 18 MBPS. I know these are just what the Codec is capable of but I was wondered what is the actual bitrates we're getting on HD-DVD?
I was wondering because I've seen people say bitrates as low as 640 KBPS for DD+.

Most Dolby Digital Plus tracks are encoded at 640 Kbps, but a good 1.5 Mbps DD+ track can (I'm told) sound almost as good as Dolby TrueHD. The problem with comparing DD+ and THD is that when you find them both on the same disc, the DD+ is usually at the lower bit rate, so it will inevitably sound inferior.
