And remember this, Sears owns K Mart or vice versa. So that means that Sears will follow in the footsteps of K Mart.

It's good news in the sense that it will just be more advertising for HD DVD to Kmart shoppers, but on the other hand Kmart and Sears aren't exactly the place you go out to buy movies.
Personally, I don't even buy my HD DVDs in retail stores. Here in Canada, most HD DVDs (and Blus) run $30-$40. However, on eBay I have been picking them up for about $15, some even as low as $10! And plus with the exchange, it's even better for me.

K Mart owns Sears. Sounds weird, doesn't it? There is no K-Mart in my area anymore. They closed the local store a couple of years back when they reorganized. The Sears in Peabody, MA, on the other hand, is in a shopping center which is being renovated into a high end site. I seldom shop at Sears, but I was there a few weeks ago with a friend looking at their electronics. They have a GREAT display of Hd tvs, rivaling that of BB in my opinion, rangeing from upper end Sonys (which I DO like) to the low end Visios. When I was looking, I was approached by this georgeous 20 something chick who happened to be a Sony Rep and she went through the whole sales pitch on the Sony tvs. She knew her stuff and I was quite impressed. I did not mention BD or HD DVD to her, but I did notice that they did have a working A2 on display connected to a Visio 32", I think. I did not look to see if they carried any movies.
I would not sell Sears/KMart short. They have a lot of stores and could exert a lot of influence in this stupid war. I can't wait for Black Friday at Sears. They will sell all those HD DVD players at $169 in minutes!

Sears electronics department works on comission, so she was pushing Blu Ray because of that.

You should have got her number and then did a little pushing later that night.
For me, Sears is a pass-by store. What I mean is when you go to the mall and you end up parking by Sears, you walk through Sears quickly to get to the main part of the mall.

In my area we have Sears, K-Mart, and something a little different. There are "Sears Grand" stores here. They are more or less a cross between Wal-Mart and Target. Ill be checking this weekend on their selection of HD DVD
