If Kmart isn't selling BD players - it's a great move. Why keep an inventory that isn't moving???

What I got out of it, is that they WILL be selling the players. Remember if you would have read the original thread Sears owns K Mart. So it sound like they are jumping into the HD DVD world. Sounds like a sound move for a company that is trying to get back in the game. You know try to compete with Wal Mart or Target.

it's not a bad move. it doesnt say they wont be selling blu-ray discs. they will still make money off the discs and the ps3s, but will focus their stand alones on HD, which seems to be doing better. personally i think exclusives are annoying in any field. its annoying what target and blockbuster is doing, its annoying what the movie studios are doing. all of it. it's annoying when bands release an album to best buy exclusive. Remember when businesses used to at least pretend to care about the consumer.

Who cares? It's KMART! POINT MADE. The people who work and shop there probably still use VHS tapes! This is nothing that will hurt Blu-Ray, or give HD DVD fan boys/girls hope that there preferred format will win.

You know Kmart has about 1500 stores. If you don't think this is a big deal then why was Target big deal for bluray fanboys and with Wallmart selling an HD DVD player for under 200. I think the clock is ticking for bluray. Better keep buying those disc while you can.

Anyone ever hear of the Christmas Wish Book? This is and always has been the number one catalog in North America. All you guys live in big centers where options are plentiful where do you think the other half buys their Christmas crap from? The local Kwiki-mart or the Sears Catalog with goods delivered right to your door.

This is huge news, and a tremendous boost for HD DVD.

LOL! Yeah, isn't it a riot that we have to have two or three threads going for the same topic every day! Fanboys . . . nothing but fanboys any way you look at it.

I think its very smart of KMart to go with the cheaper superior format of HD DVD. With Kmarts decision and Walmart selling the Toshiba HD DVD at 8AM on Friday Nov 2 for $98, HD DVD its on its way to winning the format war.

I thought that blu-ray had already paid k-mart for exclusivity. Did their contract end already? I thought that had happened just a few months ago. Maybe there was a clause to end the contract if they couldn't sell enough blu-ray players?
