It's based on the video game franchise of the same name. I wouldn't expect much. I enjoyed the games but I'm not sure there's enough for a movie.

Edit: it doesn't come out until November 21st so I don't think anyone's seen it yet unless it came out earlier in Europe.

I saw a lobby poster for it, but I've not seen a trailer.

I am, however, looking forward to "American Gangster," opening tomorrow (Friday), if that's any consolation.

American Gangster looks really good. I've seen the opening scene and it'll get your attention right away

All I'm gonna say is Denzel Washington with a lighter.

I'm looking forward to it

Actually, they stole this idea from our very own Erik Martinez. I have proof. I was in class with him when he wrote the screenplay. I think he should sue!

Chris,

Which idea: for "Hit Man" or "American Gangster"?

Incidentally, another film along these violent/action lines that looks to have promise is the Coen Brothers' "No Country for Old Men" with Tommy Lee Jones, Javier Bardem, and Woody Harrelson. I sound like a studio shill here, but I won't know if it's any good 'til I see it.

Erik was working on his "Hitman" script before the Hitman video game ever came out. Erik is a man ahead of his time.

I know probably a few of you got a chance to see this... maybe, or not... but wanted to get some info on what you though about it. Yes i have plaved every video game at one point or another, but though the movie wasent all that bad (alot worst video game based movies around). Yes the story is a little different form the game, and yes, not too much backround info. but maybe holds more to be developed for the future. The plot was ok. Gimme some thoughs.

Couldn't be bothered to see it...but Roeper absolutely positively hated it (so did the guest critic last week). The only reason I'd see it is for Timothy Olyphant it's just not high on the priority list right now.

most critics killed it, even some admitted not caring about the game, others I felt didnt give it a chance, just because it was based on a movie. people online, though it was alright though.

Timothy Olyphant , hes ok to me, but whats so special that everyone likes?

It goes back to The Broken Hearts Club for me, I think. He's got a look I like.

I have to admit when I saw the previews I laughed my butt off! I figured it would be crap just because it was based on a video game. And it did end up with one of the lowest ratings on Rotten Tomatoes this year.

I played the game a couple years ago and it's really pretty average for a shooter style game. It's really nothing to write home about and does tend to be a boring game once you figure out the routine. To be honest, the Bond-007 games are a lot more fun if you're into that style of game play.

the hitman games were very good for the PC platform since the beggining.. for consoles i gotta admit they were not very good, specially with all the competition.

but i had more fun with the hitman games, waaaay more then the 007 games.
