"Do you want it?" No. "Do you need it?" No.

Sad that these commercials are so much more entertaining than the PS3 itself. :\

At the end of the day the PS3 is a gaming console first. No matter what they do there are still ZERO games that interest anyone which is why now they are trying to push it as a bluray player to try and increase sales.

Sony is having really hard times right now as the sales for the PS3 still haven't even met the sales figures they themselves announced for last year. Sales for HD DVD players and the publicity HD DVD players are getting is really making the whole bluray camp nervous.

Spiderman 3 sales didn't beat Transformers and Ratatouille hasn't done squat either. The downward trend for bluray has started.

HD DVD has Shrek the Third and The Bourne Ultimatum coming (HD DVD exclusives) and somehow I'm thinking the Blade Runner HD DVD version will outsell the bluray version.

I'm speculating like crazy but I'm bored at work :p Tim...wheres your "fanboy" pic!

BD has some equally strong releases as well--
Close Enconters, Cars, Ratatouille, POC Part 3, Lost Season 3, Die Hard Collection.

It is all about the price not about the war. I went to the stores and saw a lots of blu ray supporters getting Toshiba HD DVD player last week and this week. If the price is right for PS3, I think people will buy it.

yep add that and Battlestar Galactica too. It will be interesting to see how many people are willing to pay $130+ for the one season. We will have to wait and see.

Are there 100 thousand trekkies, or are there 1500 who go from convention to convention?

Maybe a little of both. Kinda like the Greatful Dead fans that used to follow the group from city to city.

About Ratatouille, I meant to say that I would be surprised if it sold better than Spiderman 3 did on either DVD or bluray. I'm at work so forgive my lack of focus.

Yeah, let's not forget about "Lost: Season 3"! Is it even on anymore? Have they explained the giant polar bear yet? Is it a lead-in to "Beowolf" or what?

Yeah...real big stuff coming for Blu-ray!
