Hey Singlecellien...

I just want to know if anyone one here realizes that it's not all about the movies... it's about licensing it's about number of BD's printed vs HD's printed.

A movie costs 24 bucks.. lets say 30 bucks..

Games are up in the 60's... Sony has sold MANY times more games than combined BD/HD movies... all on BD ROM.

Can anyone here comment sensibly (I know - it's a stretch) on whether or not that matters?

Cellien, you have a very pessimistic view. Yes you can prove many things. And if you want to speak of common sense then do a search for all of the news sources that say Blu-ray is winning the format war. I've already provided many links to illustrate this fact.

Currently the momentum is in Blu-rays favor:

BluCanada, you make a good point. Blu-ray is part of what makes the PS3 so great. Therefore, it has more reason to succeed. HD DVD doesn't have this luxury.

Cellien,

I bet if I said Paramount and Dreamworks left Bluray for HD DVD because they got a payoff, the discs are cheaper to make, and they see more future to HD DVD she'd say I need links to back it up even though everyone else (and probably herself) actually knows it happened. Much of what has been said doesn't need links. I love how she celebrates when anyone admits Bluray stores more or the PS3 has a huge marketshare in the next-gen market, as if either of those are factors. Its been discussed time and time again, that the space is more relevent for games or computer use than movies, and that PS3 buyers arent buying movies in mass....but forget facts.

You know, she'd probably deny the holocost if she was being paid by the Nazi's what she's being paid by Sony...

I don't know about anyone else but isn't it offensive calling this a war when we have real wars going on?

dguisinger, I find your holocost mentioning extremely insulting and insensitive. I am now reporting you to the moderators. If I were you I would Edit your post before they see that.

BluCanada:

Interesting question
here's my take....I doubt Sony is including the game disc numbers if they did it would actually be very pathetic on BD sales because BD sales are only like 1.1 or 1.3 to every PS3 as it is so I would bet they are excluding those sales.

however
I'd have to say it doesnt matter revenue wise because console makers ALWAYS produce their game discs on their own lines, so they get a large portion of game revenues....

In all the years I have spent in front of a computer screen, and in all the years I have spent surfing the internet, I have never seen such immature, derogatory, venomous, disgusting, anal, statistic twisting, psuedo-scientific, rambling, pointless claptrap as I have seen since this whole high definition format war started.
