I dont need to provide you with my resume, though it does exist. 7 years in business management and marketing, as well as 4 years in electrical engineering. also a combined 15 years in software engineering and embedded systems programming.

Who cares what the PS3 failure rate is, no one has one. It doesnt matter because Microsoft has replaced them all, and the early adopters like myself who paid for repairs got reimbursed once the warranty was extended.

I don't even remember half the stuff you just asked me again because its no longer on the screen, but isntead of repeating myself every 5 minutes for the next few hours i'll come back later and debunk whatever you have to say once more.

Okay, people, the fun starts to wear thin when the discussions lapse into name-calling.

A reminder: DVD Town message boards are provided as a forum that we hope will be lively, fun, and informative for participants, but we do ask that you keep it civil. No name-calling. No personal attacks.

The best boards are self-policed. Please just make it a point to attack the formats, the companies, and the technologies all you want . . . but don't attack individuals.

Thanks!

Now, I'll step out of the way before the bottles start flying through the air again. Why does this thread make me feel like those musicians in the cage in "Road House"???

If you actually have an education then you wouldn't call millions of people "no one".

M$ didn't replace all of the defective hardware ... AND it just goes to show the kind of product they make. You defend them like they're your family ... all they are is a company trying to get more money out of you.

All you need to do is right click the "Reply to this topic" button and you could have another window open to respond in so you could read what you are responding to in the other window.

Provide a resume or a web site to prove your qualifications or else I will never believe you, it's that simple.

You keep responding to me, and yet you don't respond directly to the points I make concerning the topic of this thread ... you keep skating around them ... and that's because there is no way to refute what I'm saying. Numbers don't lie, and the numbers say that Blu-ray is winning.

Don't be angry, just be patient, see where things go, but don't try to convince me or anyone else that HD DVD has greater numbers, cause the numbers say otherwise.

"The act of desperation was selling HD DVD players at $99 cause they are relatively useless and poorly made products.

The PS3 is following a more reasonable price reduction schedule." BBGirl

You've made some pretty good arguments so far, but now you're just in denial. This is pure speculation and opinion on your part. Xbox 360 had one price cut after about a year and a half in the market. PS3 has been in the market for about a year and had several price changes/reductions and hardware revisions. Yeah, 360 has heat problems, but 360 is still having better sales because the system has more promise in terms of games and is backed by microsoft's THREE year red-ring warranty. Sales figures for consoles in past year, 360 has led EVERY month. And this is ps3's first year and it still cant pick up the pace. PS3 should be leading if it were competent.

STOP saying blu ray machines are outselling hd dvd machines. PS3's are forced into homes.
You want to compare with ps3? alright, look at this:

5.5 million ps3's shipped/sold (not to mention stand alone blu ray drives)
2.6 million blu ray discs sold in the last year.

420,000 hd dvd players sold (and a few 360 add ons, they are not selling well at all) http://www.highdefdigest.com/news/show/Hardware/Industry_Forecasts/Report:_HD_DVD_Standalone_Player_Sales_Nearing_500,000_Milestone/1156)
1.4 million hd dvd discs sold in last year.

=.47 blu ray discs bought by the average ps3 owner
=3.33 hd dvd discs bought by the average hd dvd player owner

is this not enough evidence to show that ps3 owners do not show significant strength in the hd war? They simply dont really care. Stand alone units are what matter and hd dvd is stumping blu ray in the arena.
No one is saying hd dvd is winning, but we are saying that blu ray's lead is very brittle right now and ps3's influence will become very ineffective once more and more high-def players are in people's homes, especially after christmas.

I'm glad you can finally accept that HD DVD is losing.

It's about time you opened your eyes.

wow im glad you realized you couldnt even come up with a response. in your own words:

"You keep responding to me, and yet you don't respond directly to the points I make concerning the topic of this thread ... you keep skating around them ... and that's because there is no way to refute what I'm saying."

not a hypocrite or anything....

Dude, you said it yourself:

"No one is saying hd dvd is winning"

Thus my response. That's all I wanted to get you to say. The rest is just speculation. So like I've been saying OVER and OVER ... we'll see what happens in the future. So pay attention to the stats, they say Blu-ray is winning.

thats good. lets all just look at numbers rather than actually analyze trends and discuss what may happen in the future. i forgot everything in this world is determined by digits. by your reasoning, anyone winning 10-5 at the beginning of a basketball game, will ultimately win the whole game.

and by the way, i gave you ps3 numbers that you decided to ignore.

You people are frickin brutal. Have you nothing better to do than bicker back and forth about who is winning this silly thing? It's like the abortion debate, people are completely polarized on their views and until one format is a clear cut winner there will be no persuading anyone to whatever your belief is. Move on people.
