@bubblebathgirl:

So now I'm jealous? This just keeps getting better and better... Jealousy about movie formats is something I don't comprehend. Even if it was a matter of jealousy, I could just buy a Blu-Ray player (for a small fortune) and that'd be that. Really? Jealousy? That's what you come up with? Think you have been soaking in your bubble bath a little too long. )

BTW - You say lets get back to the original topic, however I think you are confused because the original topic has nothing to do with old sales ratios of Blu-Ray vs. HD-DVD that you continuously spout EVEN right after you say you are getting back on topic. OOPS.

Well said Cellien.

I don't know how saying I'd rather pay less than more constitutes jealousy.

Now... Having to pay more, when you can get the same thing for less.. That's worth being jealous about.

Bubblebath,

Why is it you insist on a 1080p player? HD starts at 720p, so having a 1080p player is irrelevant unless that is something your TV can do. Furthermore, 1080p is only beneficial on large screens, anyone knows that. 42" and below are more than adequate for 1080i/720p.

You think in the marketplace an i and a p after the big 1080 number is going to justify twice the cost to an average consumer? If that's the case, then they are real picture whores... which can afford the next step up in HD player, which is still cheaper than the PS3 or any other stand along Blu-Ray player. Those people already have players and made their choice. The next step in for market share is J6P (average consumer), and price always matters.

Well said, Cellien.

Heck, you can't tell the difference between 1080i & 1080p on my 50" Pioneer plasma.

It's all spin.

@shawnwc:

"Now... Having to pay more, when you can get the same thing for less.. That's worth being jealous about."

And...I think we all know who suffers from that!

LOL @ Bubblebath spouting useless OLD statistics again! Wow. IT'S A ROBOT!
