I don't often reply on this site, usually just find it interesting to see what everyone says. Although I own a HD DVD player and think Sony (although making good products) overprice everything they sale, it's still undenyable that there is more Blu Ray out there at this moment in time. I think its too early to tell for anyone if this will stay the same or change and I think the 'war' is only just starting to fire up. No one can say which one will win, we can only predict. But please, can we drop the word 'fanboy' from the comments??? It's coming far too overused and seemingly as soon as someone expresses an opinion strongly for one side or the other somebodys there to call them a fan boy :s

Cheers to MattPayne for an objective and helpful comment.
Too bad xplaytendo follows up with silliness. Blu-ray is the VHS this time around. Please try to get your analogies straight. Blu-ray can hold more data and is more popular.

About the 1080i... Don't you Blu-Ray Fanboys ever get it?
There is absolutely no difference between a 1080i Player and a 1080p Player. Even on a 1080p Player you will see absolutely NO difference (if the TV does deinterlace it correctly). Most movies are shot at 24 frames, using an HDTV (60HZ) you will see the same picture with 1080p (60 Full Pictures) or 1080i (60 Half Pictures - deinterlaced to 30 Full Pictures). If you still don't get it use Google.

Thank you buble bath girl
and thaek, there is a difference between 1080i and 1080p players even if it is not a massive difference. The fact is what you say doesn't seem to be a for or against argument as HD DVD offer different opthions as well as blu ray. If you have only got a 1080i TV then I'm sure you'd apreciate a much cheaper HD DVD player as it is only 1080i, therte are still 1080p options out there for HD DVD though. Just as there is for Blu Ray.
