Kris I find your passionate ignorance so very disturbing I signed up to post.

When BluRay get’s to profile 2.0 they will actually start to have the features of HD-DVD.
The set of features that HD-DVD had on every player since release.
BluRay was not ready to compete with HD but rushed their products on the market. This is bad for customers.
You list a lot of companies that support Blue Ray but fail to point out that by any measure Toshiba by themselves is larger than all the other companies except Sony COMBINED.
I am really getting tired of the smug BD supporters taking advantage of customer ignorance to influence people.

The only difference is the base layer size of the disc and since 100+ gb storage on HDDVD is possible and all HD players have network ports compatibility is not an issue either. (Sorry BD fans)

HD is cheaper to manufacture both player and disc this is consumer friendly.

The BD superiority argument is based on technical merits that have absolutely no benefit to the consumer. If I presented you with 2 laptops one with a 30g hard and another with a 50 with no network port and said you need to store 15 to 28 gb of data on it what would you choose?

Once again, people, as Managing Editor I have to remind you to please refrain from making personal attacks. Talk about the issues all you want, but leave personal attacks out of it.

We published almost exactly the same amount of HD DVD and Blu-ray reviews (around 250 each) so far, and Blu-ray reviews get just as many hits as HD DVD reviews. Like it or not, the site has as many Blu-ray users as HD DVD users, though you wouldn't know it from the message boards. Obviously HD DVD users are more vocal but let's stay civil, okay?

Why do Fox, Disney stick with Blu ray?.............MONEY..........They have some kind of agreement and it has not expired yet. That's why they are so frustrated in every interviews. They blamed HD DVD camp, they blamed HD DVD supporters., they blame studioes, and most recently they blame Microsoft.

this must be the stage that $ony are on about, the part where they get there fans to deliberatly flame and spread fud about hd dvd...like the link i posted for the anandtech picture it clearly show bd disc sales in decline, hd dvd steadily climbing.......
fox and disney can be as bullish about bd as much as they like, it wont be long before they start looking at how much money they are losing BECAUSE they arent selling on hd dvd

@everyone
I apologise to anyone who found my post personally insulting @Kris respectively. Ignorant has a negative connotation in our society I mean only people must be unacquainted with, unconscious or unaware. Because I honestly believe that this rhetoric has to come from a lack of knowledge about the subject or just not a deep level of technological understanding. I make a living from understanding technology have for 20 years (I’m not old just started at 14). I am not saying I'm not biased but it is very difficult for me to understand how rational people could choose BluRay.
So far I have not heard one argument that does not involve storage size which is really not relevant
