THE REAL HENNING

some of you have been asking for this site's moderators to keep things under control. however, i just wanted to let the new(er) members know that there aren't any moderators at dvdtown.com. there is only one moderator (singular), and he doesn't really moderate.

some of you have wondered who this "henning" person is. well, for more information, here is his biography: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neville_Chamberlain .

Neville Chamberlain was forced to resign from his position as England's Prime Minister for being too accommodating to Germany before World War II. There are those people here at DVDTOWN who think our Editor, Henning Molbaek, is too accommodating toward Message Board posters who overstep the bounds of civility. But Henning is the most democratic guy in the world and believes strongly in free speech, so short of hard, coninuous profanity, he allows a degree of idiot dissention from both sides of an argument. If I were still moderator, I have to admit I would not be so tolerant.

as you don't know the history of dvdtown.com, your guesses about the site's staff members have all been wrong. john is no longer a moderator through no doing of his own.

i don't mind writing this...if i met you in real life, i'd treat you with the same level of contempt as i am here on the internet.

Henning has been busy working on about 800 other features on this new site format, and providing control over my deleting messages is not a high priority for him or for me. It has not needed to be a high priority because until just recently, the folks posting at the Message Board have been a cordial and civil bunch.

But times change.

it's bad enough when the boy cried wolf, but this time, the wolf himself is doing the crying.

henning, your glasnost has made this message board a very unpleasant place. even your staff members feel the same way as i do.

About those who post things you don't like or find not worthy of these board simply don't reply to their posts.

If you do all you accomplish is adding fuel to the fire and keep unwanted posts new and at the top.
