My Town: Introducing Dashboard and Avatar

We have added new features to your my town account. Let me run trough them.

Dashboard:
Your account now has a new main page. Instead of logging directly into your collection we have added a new dashboard page. It is the plan that this will become the new start page for all things My Town. As a start we have included a easy view of your wish list titles plus a special news and reviews column. What makes these special are that they are based on the titles you have in your collection and wish list. News and reviews just for you.

Please note: Your dashboard page may appear empty if you don't have any titles in your collection or wish list.

Avartar:
Under "My Account Settings" it is now possible to set your avatar picture. This picture will be displayed in your login box on every page as well in the message board next to your username. For now you can choose among 10 cool pictures and we will keep adding new each month. We are currently evaluating the possibility for personal uploads but don't have the right solution yet. So for now, this is the way we will do.

Newsletter coming soon:
As a final remark I wanted to let you know that a weekly newsletter with top news and reviews will soon be ready for launch. If your email is incorrect or if you want to avoid getting it in your mailbox (We hope you don't ) be sure to keep your "My Account Settings" current.

Henning, just so you know I have Internet Explorer 6 at work (I can't upgrade it) and the links on the right side don't work for me. When I put my mouse over "My Dashboard", "My Wish List" or the avatar pic there seems to be no hyperlink.

I'm assuming this is an issue with Internet Explorer 6 but again I have no way of upgrading it at work and most of my time spent on DVD Town is at work

We already tested it on our version of IE 6 and it worked.

However, I'll try to do more testing.

We know it works on IE7, Safari and Firefox.

Where are the avatar pictures? I get to the page, but I see none -- just a bunch of radiobuttons with no pics.

I still don't get a hyperlink when I roll my mouse over "My Dashboard", "My Wish List" or the avatar pic.

Whats weird about the issue is that when I'm reading or posting on the message boards the links aren't working at the top right. I should say there are no links I can click on when I roll my mouse over My Dashboard, My Wish List, etc. When I click on My Town they don't work but when I'm in the message board and then click on my profile (on the left side where the avatars are) or someone elses profile the links work.

Wow. Been a couple weeks since I visited, and I like the new additions. YAY! Avatars! Place is coming along well. Good work ppl! Lovin it!

I think it's more of a browser issue. Try the latest Firefox, IE7, or Avant.
