Toshiba and Microsoft, one can't make disks right and the other can't make disks play right...oh my goodness.

Where are you going with this?

Again, the PS3 is a great machine on paper. But it has major flaws as a gaming console. The main thing being that it is to expensive and that it lacks games. Another real problem is that was developed without third party game developers being asked on what they want. This has resulted in fewer games and those that arrive comes later than on other platforms and often has the same graphics and features as the XBOX 360. Not better and in some cases worse. It is correct that a gaming console needs time to mature but the PS3 has been on the street for a year and enters its second holiday season. Where is the blockbuster title? Just name one. When Halo 3 was released even the most expensive ($129 a piece) limited edition of that game sold more than the best selling game on PS3.

Henning,

When was Halo 3 released when the system came out or a year after. And after Halo came Bioshock and after that nothing...the system is now suffering from the samething that HDDVD will this holiday season (THE WHAT'S NEXT SYNDROME). PS3 new up and comming line up looks great. And so does Blu ray's

Henning,

I'd have to agree, setting aside the Blu-Ray movie playback for a second. The PS3 has not been a great game machine. There's nothing about it that screams must buy for me. I can get most of the games that I want for my 360 and they look the same and in the case of Madden 08 look better (360 runs at 60 fps as opposed to 30 fps on PS3). Plus most game developers have said it's a dog to program for and it's internet service is even worse to program for. EA the largest video game company in the world recently said they will not dedicate separate teams for PS3 versions of games. Rather they will just use the 360 version as a base. So there will be no graphically differences between the two. So for all it's vaunted power no EA title will ever take advantage of it because EA does not have the time for it.

A friend of mine has (up until recently) been a Sony boy for life. He's had his PS3 for eight months. He's owned all previous PS's and naturally he bought the new one. He recently traded it in because he said there's nothing he wants to play for it right now and he's tired of waiting for something good to come out.

It wasn't.

Before Halo 3 "Gears of War" broke records.

But again, PS3 is a great machine but my advice is to wait. Right now the price is high and the games are absent.

Tony besides MGS4 what's coming out just for the PS3 that anyone should be excited about?

Also the 360 looks good on paper but I can't see the faith in a faulty machine and where is the HDDVD software for games (oh maybe next gen), an HDDVD add on IMO shows a lack luster of support by Micosoft for HDDVD. If it was fully intergrated with HDDVD there probabaly would be an end to this war already, with HDDVD as the victor. This is what happens when you want to be first in line, xbox first, HDDVD first but like I said in the previous post "what's next from these two companies."

Tony the reason Microsoft didn't include the HD DVD add-on to their XBOX 360 systems was because they didn't want to force it on consumers the way Sony did with the PS3 and bluray. They have stated this clearly in interviews (I'm not going to search it for you).

So the people that just want a gaming console have one, if you also wanna watch high definition movies you can get the HD DVD add-on. It's pretty simple.

Rock Star isn't a PS3 exclusive, Neither is Devil May Cry. Also you bashed the 360 for being nothing but first person shooters but you list a Three First person shooter as a game to get on the PS3 (Killzone 2, Unreal Tournament 3, and Haze).
