I have both Xbox and PS3. I tell you the truth. I only play one game with PS3 system. Xbox Live is the place for me and my friends play games.

Henning --

Gears of War came out last year in November. 360 came out in 2005. For first year or so only one game was good on 360 - Oblivion. Pretty much everything sucked. If you goto IGN, and see editors choice award list -- all games in top 20 are shooters except Mass Effect, Oblivion, Forza Motorsport. Bioshock is a shooter as well.
http://xbox360.ign.com/index/choice.html?ordering.order=desc&ordering.attribute=article.review_date&constraint.bool.article.is_editors_choice=is_true&constraint.locale=us&sort.attribute=article.overall_rating&sort.order=desc

Last five games that I have finished on 360 are - Gears of War, COD 4, Bioshock, Rainbow Six:Vegas, and Halo 3. All shooters.

Honestly, state of both the consoles - 360 & PS3 sucks pretty much at this point. Both consoles lack future games .. We will see ..

First, about Gears of War. The XBOX 360 was introduced in 2005 and Gears came out in Nov. 2006. With my math that makes it XBOX's second holiday season... not ?

I agree on the first person shooters but what about....:

EA Sports Series (Looks better on XBOX 360)
Forza Motorsport 2 (Only on XBOX 360 and the best racing game I have ever played)
Beautiful Katamari (Only on XBOX 360)
Ace Combat 6 (Only on XBOX 360 for now)
Scene It? Lights, Camera, Action (Only on XBOX 360)
Viva Pinata (Only on XBOX 360)

All I say is that if you look on getting some games played the XBOX 360 (right now) has the best games and the best online service by far. It even has better or the same visuals in many cases. If you don't want to use it for games but only movies the PS3 might be a good offer. Personally I would place my bet on a stand-alone player when they get more profile 1.1 and 2.0 players finished.

The XBOX 360 is a nice system, but there is something to say about their failure rates. I can't see buying a product from a a company that sacrifices the Quality Assurance process and does not fully test their product just to get the up on the next gen market. That's why sometimes it's better to wait as a consumer and a manufacture. IMO the next game console from Microsoft will not sell as well because of the 360 failure rate.

Simply put, I bought a Wii to play games. And I bought a Toshiba HD DVD player to watch Hi Def movies. The 2 should have never been brought together. I mean if you are going to spend all that ching on an overated game system. Why not just buy the stand alone Blu Ray player. It is less expensive and you won't be ticked off that you got dooped over the PS3 when you should have just kept your PS2.

I did not want a Nintendo Wii, it doesn't fit my style of gamming. There is virtually no online sudstance to the system what so ever. I prefer to have online gamming and slinging my arms around like I'm 10yrs. old isn't me either. The games I like are on either PS3 or 360. The Wii fits my son's style of play, he likes to run around like a chicken with it's head cut off with a controller in his hands, NOT ME. The 360 has a poor failure rate and PS3 does not, my choice was clear, now whether it was a good investment or not we'll see, I think it was. But you said the HDDVD player ans the Wii should never be bought together (well that was your decision), IMO why should'nt they especially if the Wii doesn't even have DVD playback. Here's the kicker I NEVER OWNED A PS2.

I have owned my XBOX 360 for a year now and I have had absolute no problems whatsoever.

If I did have a probem, I wouldn't fret it though, since the XBOX 360 has a THREE-YEAR WARRANTY. This even means that any XBOX sold to date can be replaced by Microsoft 100% free of charge. For sure, there were problems with 360's overheating when it first came out, but it is good to see that Microsoft has addressed these problems with such an amazing warranty.

Kucoloco,

I have had (I swear to this statement), three people close to me, stepson, cousin, and one friend, all have needed their 360 repaired so why would I invest in a machine that doesn't have a good personal track record? Where is the logic?
