The old disclaimers apply: no hi def talk, no speculation, feel free to spoil the movie.

Dear god, the ending was just...mindblowing, I think it the word I'm looking for. I contemplated the group killing themselves but never really entertained the idea. It seemed so anti-Hollywood.

The movie seems to have an agenda against faith and spirituality, but the final scene makes the unspoken argument FOR faith. Really incredible movie.

You know, when I first saw the preview I said to myself, "oh, The Mist" even before the title came up. I figured it was a remake since I could swear I seen it years ago. But alas! I checked on IMDB and I had no luck finding a previous movie or even a made for TV movie. However, I could swear it was made years ago, wasn't it? I read the short story a very long time ago and loved it, but did I picture it so vivid in my mind that it transposed to the screen that well? If so, that's F@#%ing freaky! I mean, I knew exactly what it was in the first 3 to 4 seconds of the preview, yet I had not read the book in almost 16-years. Please, someone tell me this is a remake or if I'm losing my mind.

According to the wikipedia, there is an audio version as well. I'm not seeing another filmed version.

Then that's freaky as hell! Everything in those previews is exactly how I pictured it in the book, all the way down to the last detail. It's like looking into a dream as if I had some premonition of it! Damn, now I have to go see it!

I had the audio version of the book on cassette and it was done in surround sound(only with head phones) and I always thought if this was a movie it would be creepy, it was creepy with vocal actors and surround effects. Now I would like to see Stephen Kings' THE LONG WALK short story make it to film.

William Sadler, who was apparently in the radio version as David Drayton, has a role in the movie. I like little pieces of useless trivia like that. (Where is that "nerd" smilie?)

Like Tim, I could have sworn I'd seen this movie before and that it was a remake. The trouble was I had read the short story many years ago, and I had seen both versions of "The Fog." I mean, "The Mist," "The Fog"? What's the difference, right? But this one's new, and it's directed by Frank Darabont, the guy who brought us two previous Stephen King stories, "The Shawshank Redemption" and "The Green Mile." So it's got history working for it.

After watching this movie, I felt really... wonderous, amazed, shocked, and curious all at the same time. To be honest, I didn't give a shit about the whole invasion idea of it, that's not what I was paying attention to but how closely related to the American politics it was. Although it was one of the best movies I have ever seen, I can't help but think that the movie was based on some sort of American government 'gimmick', and I'm not even American to start with. Think about it, the story is based on religion and politics to the fullest. They have you thinking, if you believe in religion you will die, if you believe in the army you will survive. An invasion takes place, in other words, monsters from another place come take over, maybe closely relating to the problems in Iraq. The ending made me think of this, what better way to convince an audience of something than to end the movie with the American army coming in to save the day. Just my two cents on the discussion. Anyways, I still loved the movie and gave me a lot to think about

I fell asleep half way through this horrid adaption of a great short story, the preacher woman(talk about cheezy acting) was so irritatingly rubbish, she really should have died early on.

I think Tim has the power to teleport in time like Hiro from the TV show Heroes. Explains why he recognized the trailer 3 - 4 seconds into it. So Tim, Does Obama win?
