Hey everyone, sorry I haven't been around much. In fact, I don't know if many of "the old gang" is still posting here, but, Happy Thanksgiving to you anyway, as well as the rest of the DVD Town members. John, Eddie, Tim, Henning, Sean, Ranyan, I hope you're all doing well.
For those of you that celebrate Thanksgiving, (and even if you don't) don't forget about those folks out there that can't afford the warmth of a home, let alone a Thanksgiving dinner. Stop by your local shelter and donate some money, clothing, food, service, or whatever you are able to give. Or, while you're out and about, give some money to "The Salvation Army", or to the person(s) begging for food on the corner. These folks really need our help.
Thanks, everyone. Have a happy and safe Thanksgiving day!

Josh,
Great to hear from you again. Hope your Thanksgiving is wonderful as well.
Often in this country, we look to what the next great thing is without taking a moment to realize just how great we've already got it. In addition to Josh's suggestions I would like to add that just for today think of all the ways in which you are blessed. Whenever that person cuts you off on the way to dinner, whenever your team starts losing, take yourself out of the moment and think on the things you DO have rather than the things you want or don't have.
Maybe even think about it tomorrow, and the next day.
A wonderful holiday to all of those observing it. It's great to be part of a community like this, and that's one of the many things I'm thankful for today.
Take care from a big ole' turkey himself,

The only time my family really gets together is on holidays that usually being Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas, and I really look fwd to those days. Our last get together last April was on Easter Sunday for dinner at my house. (I'm actually the oldest male in the family now (64) so I usually get the duty). I ended up in the hospital that evening with a heart attack which was a real wake up call, to say the least. I've made a complete recovery and I am very THANKFUL that I am still here to celebrate the holidays. Tonight, we'll kick off the Christmas season with a showing of the Polar Express HD DVD for the kids (and me, I LOVE that movie). I have a lot to be thankful for. My most sincere wishes for a great Holiday Season for all those contributing to this forum and the people at DVD Town. This place is a class act.

Ranjan (sorry for miss-spelling) good to see you're still around, and you too Sean! I agree, Sean. We should keep all of those things in mind that we DO have. If you have your health, family that loves you regarless of shortcomings, a roof over your head, food in your fridge/cupboards, and the ability to stay warm during these cold months, you are a VERY rich person, indeed.
Steve, I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say, we're glad you're still around too. It sounds like you're appreciating things as we all should.
Love those that are close to you, and be sure they know it! This December will mark the year and a half mark being married to my wife. I was 32 when we got married, and she's the love of my life. I tell her multiple times every day that I love her, and thank our Heavenly Father for placing her in my life, daily, as well. I am a very blessed man.
I'm thankful I still have my friends here at DVD Town.
I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and appreciate all that you have.

Josh,
So you'll be 33 1/2 this December? That's crazy, 'cause so will I. When's your birthday?
sean (...just the day, please, not the suit...)
And, congrats on your 1 1/2 year anniversary. I'm so glad to hear that marriage is treating you well! This year is number 9 for my wife and me, and it just keeps getting better!

This year is number 40 for me. Here's an ironry: When we were first married, I recall watching the original Star Trek on a 12" b&w in our first apartment. 40 years later, I'm still watching the same show (or will be when Santa brings the boxed set) but this time in HD and on a much bigger screen. I guess, some things just never change!

Steve,
Things do move so fast! I recall when we upgraded from our 19" set to a 31" set, and my wife found it somewhat extravagant. Then came the surround sound and now the 51" HDTV. Now, she can't stand to watch anything without these luxuries.
We truly are blessed, and am I ever glad that my wife gets this whole A/V electronics obession!
sean (...now if we can just keep getting the electronics...)

Josh,
I know what you mean. It seems like only the other day my wife and I were getting married, now we've got a 6-year old, a 4-year old, and a 5-month old.
O', the days of yon in my youth...
It's amazing, though, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. Next July, it's 34 for me, so mid-30s is weird to say, but that's where I am!
Take care and keep aging gracefully with me!
sean (...well, you age gracefully... i'm pretty sure graceless got its hands on me...)
