I just watched 1408 (very effective at creeping you out) and was browsing here for the review and could not find one. Will there be one someday?

The Weinstein Company is not always easy to deal with, and our reviewers may not have been able to obtain review copies of the discs. In the meantime, Jason Vargo did a theatrical review of the movie: http://www.dvdtown.com/news/theatrical-review-of-1408/4556

Great movie! And it's being released in Germany on HD DVD soon. I wonder why Weinstein hasn't released it in the US as an HD DVD????

John,
I saw your list for Christmas and I agree with your last movie, A Christmas Story is a must have for both format owners. It's the pefect holiday movie, my youngest is 7 and saw it for the first time last year. For 2 months all he wanted was a BB rifle.
He got upset when he found out that I deleted it from my DVR. Tommorow I'm buying 4 Blu rays from AMAZON and this will be one of them. I guess Ralphee will be one of our holiday traditions like putting our favorite ornaments on the tree.

Christmas Story is my #1 pick for holiday movies.
Oops, forgot we're talking about 1408. . . Anyway, yes, 1408 was also a good movie. I'd have to say it was one of the better films of 2007. I'm not quite sure if it scared me, but it was a fun mind-twister. Great performance and very suspensful all the way through.

Only I didn't say "Fudge." I said THE word, the big one, the queen-mother of dirty words, the "F-dash-dash-dash" word!

Scut Farkus! What a rotten name! There he stood, between us and the alley. Scut Farkus staring out at us with his yellow eyes. He had yellow eyes! So, help me, God! Yellow eyes!
