I guess 70% just dont care about internet features, or people just dont have a long enough ethernet wire from the computer office to the family room. Maybe HD DVD should just pull the plug on the internet features and combo format with the DVD playback all together. This way HD DVD could lower prices on their Discs along with their cheap players!

Considering Internet interactive content is coming to Blu-ray, it seems the industry as a whole thinks this is worthwhile and will eventually catch on with the consumer. I just hope neither format ends up charging for additional content on top of the movie already paid for.

To be honest, I was a little surprised that it was as big as 30%. I suppose early adopters of HD DVD are more likely than average to have a broadband connection and home network, but this is still significant given the rather "primative" early applications of this technology, as well as it being tied specifically a few movie titles.

Perhaps with early results like these reported from the HD DVD camp, Blu-ray will work a little quicker to deliver the BD-Live profile and supply Internet interactive content.

I would use it more, if it was wireless, like the Wii. I need to find some sort of antenna to hook it up to the wireless N router that I have

bowfiend, grab a wireless network bridge and you should be good to go. I think they also sell them as "wireless ethernet game adapters".

Well I'm going to be networking my 360 this weekend and while I was at it I was going to do my A1 (mostly for firmware) guess I might as well see what these features are once it's hooked up.

Skyhawk,

I have a linksys with WPA2 personal encryption to keep the neighbors from stealing my internet, you need a code to log on to the network but this setup is causing a problem with my PS3, (logging on and off issues). Is there a way to keep this from happening and still keep the encryption settings. I know that this is probably the wrong place to talk about this but if you have any input I would appreciate it.

Hi Tony, a wireless bridge or game adapter is secure - providing of course it supports the security setting that you set up on your wireless router (which any should do today, but check to be sure!). Basically think of the bridge as another real computer on your wireless network. You set your security settings there in your bridge, and it communicates with the router securely using whatever you've setup (key's etc.). An Ethernet cable goes between the bridge/adaptor and your PS3 or HD DVD player. In other words, it's the same as plugging your PS3 directly into your cable modem box without having to worry about any kind of special setup on the PS3.

Just keep in mind that once so many PS3s and HD DVD players are hooked into the net, it's possible the net will become self aware, and then we'll have this problem to content with:

Oh great Tony, now my wife has made me go out and buy another 500 cans of Spam to supply our bomb shelter with food.
