AMAZON has the best HD-DVD bundle... for now, but still holding off for a better deal. HTPC has been my solution to both formats, since I see my movies via mkv (video format extension) in full 720 or 1080p format.
This hd-dvd deal, however... is beginning to have legs. A few more (& cheaper) deals like these & I'm hooked on the HD-DVD bandwagon... TO BE CONTINUED.
Meanwhile, I can enjoy Blade Runner & Bourne Ultimatum (now, as we speak) in 720p format surround 5.1 a-la mkv format HTPC.
PS: There is a ring of TRUTH to Michael Bay's rant, regarding Microsoft's little secret - to hold down or delay universal format of blu ray (by pushing hd-dvd as competitor), while MS perfects its DIGITAL DOWNLOAD service, for both STANDARD & HD format. Only problem with that gay comment (by this BLOWHARD director), is that Microsoft's intention to provide DIGITAL VIDEO download service... IS NEVER A SECRET!
I heard he's working on BAD BOY'S 3! Kidding... just kidding. It'll be 'Armageddon' before that happens! (Wow... I'm pathetic as he is).

They're just giving HD DVD's away. I won't argue the formats but I prefer blu-ray because of the studio's that are backing the format. With that said I really wish I had an HD version of Transformers.
Team Blu-ray:
Sony Pictures
-Lakeshore Entertainment
-Columbia Pictures
-Screen Gems
-Ghost House Pictures
Walt Disney
-Buena Vista Home Entertainment
-Touchstone
-Miramax
20th Century Fox
MGM
Lionsgate
Warner Bros. (HD-DVD and Blu-ray)
New Line (HD-DVD and Blu-ray)

Your link takes you to Amazon but not for the deal you speak of. The A35 player is not marked for the price you quote, ($224.98), and Amazon’s ad still says 10 movies not 12.
Here's how it rang up for me:
Items: $409.21
Shipping & Handling: $16.44
Super Saver Discount: -$16.44
Promotion Applied: -$53.93
Total Before Tax: $355.28
Estimated Tax: $0.00
Order Total: $355.28
