I hope that is true and other studios follow suit.

I don't believe anything that these companies say, I did'nt believe it when the rumor was WB is going Blu, because there was no exec from WB coming out to say, "Yes, as of 08' we are going exclusively Blu ray". The other thing that's funny is if you read articles that third parties are saying that they have spoken to WB exec's and they say, "WE HAVE MADE NO DECISION TO CHANGE OUR PRESENT POLICY....". Can you say "LOOPHOLE". That means at any given time this policy is subject to change. By not coming out and say anything and releasing statements through third parties only adds confusion to people that have not decided on a format and frustrates those that have.

Perhaps neutral IS the correct way to go

Just proves what we been saying all along, all rumors, and false info. just enjoy whatever format you picked, and wait it out... there is really nothing, any fanboy can do.

If they announce either way that in 2008 or 2009 that they'll be shifting, they'll be stuck with unselling products from the losing end.

When it comes, it will be swift and sudden and the only signs will be delayed releases of movies in the "other" format.

That's what happened in the 1980's with 4 channel stereo. Back then I had both a discrete and matrixed system for lps and tapes. The records and tapes were literally taken off the shelves overnight with no warning. I was shattered, then about 20 years later I sold the entire collection to a collector for big bucks.

I noticed that Warner's TWISTER is arriving the week of CES in January, on both HD-DVD and Blu-ray. And I'm hoping for both HEAT and AMADEUS (among other Warner titles) to come out in hi-def next year.

Hendrix I hope so (no jokes about me liking Twister now!)

High Def Digest still has this on their site as coming out May 6.

Good news for HD DVD to be sure! Call me crazy but I would rather keep both formats around for a while cause once theres a winner we won't get these buy one get one Blu ray or HD movies and a million free movies if you buy this deals and what not.

If Warner had decided to choose one format over the over I'm sure they wouldn't tell the consumers in the middle of the holiday season.

From the article:

Quote:
Once again Warner Bros. has to comment on rumors or now on what looks like wishful thinking by Blu-ray fans.

First time I read this "article".

Henning, it sure sounds like from reading this article that the source of the rumor was from some "Blu-ray fans". To clarify, this rumor was started via a published Business Week article in which the Lionsgate Vice Chairman Michael Burns is quoted saying “The rumor is that Warner is coming aboard soon.”

Perhaps you may consider Business Week Magazine one of those wishful thinking Blu-ray fans, (I'm sure Michael Burns is!) but the article should probably be clearer in identifying the actual "fan" that is being referred to. It's rather self-evident that other Blu-ray fans would be pleased by the rumor if it had turned out to be true, which I doubt any article by this site would have to explain.
