I did sell a few dozen valued LaserDiscs many years ago, which helped bankroll my DVD and HD-DVD players etc, but most of my favorites I still have, including the great live concerts and music video LDs.

If they discount the HDDVD players I may grab one as well. LH, are they as good as an OPPO at upconverting as well as PQ?I was gonna buy the $229 OPPO 981, but maybe a Toshiba would give me a main HDDVD player, as I only have the XB add on.

Hendrix,
I agree totally. I too am a collector and I will continue to acquire HD DVD disks after the format officially rides off into the sunset. What some of these short sighted panic sellers don't realize is that HD DVD software and hardware may actually increase in value as they become more collectable over time.
And of course I'll move on. I'm almost ready. I've been looking at a BD player for a couple of months now and I'll probably spring for one late in the year. Hopefully, by then, they'll have their hardware issues finalized and perhaps the prices will go down. Right now the Panasonic BD3030K looks pretty good to me, but we'll see.
Buying into HD DVD was not a bad experience. It was an adventure. Those hard core BD fans who are crowing and patting themselves on their posterior ends because they won the "war" just don't see the big picture. Some of them never will.

View profile »Microsoft has these grand hopes of leading in the videogame console industry, yet they put out half-ass garbage in order to compete. They tried to use HD-DVD as a vehicle to over take Sony and it didn't work. We were ripped off in the process. We were M$'s Guinea pigs. Well the experiment failed. I'm pissed. I don't understand how you guys just chalk it up to water under the bridge. I just don't get it.
We were ripped off!

View profile »Second, theres "earlyadopter" and on the other side of the river... over the mountains and pass the rocks, theres a fool who doesent have a clue. EVERYONE knew this "could" might" happen. so sut up and sing. reeeelax. vent. lol
I dumped hddvd stuff, one lot limits your buyers, and you wont make money. since the beggining i knew i would keep my hddvd stuff, but recently with three setups.. (you only have two). it became anoyying. hence the reason i purchased my 50 hddvds with reward points. because alot of us knew what early adopter meant.
you spending 2000. is kinda funny, during a format war. without asking yourself if... well.. what if hddvd kicks the bucket?
EDIT- so give Sky, LH and me your acution numbers!!! crybaby. let the collectors who know what they're doing collect.

Until he proves me wrong I think they are one in the same, and if I AM wrong, my BAD, won't be the first or last time.
