At first I though this a Blu-Ray player trying to read a disc...

The salesmen in Best Buy & Circuit were already promoting Blu-Ray, long before Best Buy's announcement.

Of course they are the markup is better, plus you got to come back and buy the newer profile once they get released.

... Remember, Paramount and Universal have contracts through march 2009 and thats pure fact. And don't start with they have a hitch claus to get out of their contract. Because that was proven flase about a month ago.

You're so clueless. Universal's contract expired last month and was not renewed. You're so full of misinformation that it's painful.

Also, Paramount has an escape clause.

Universal HD DVD exclusivity contract has expired, sits non-renewed

More news from the format war today, and it isn't good for the red camp. Daily Variety has confirmed that Universal's agreement to stick with HD DVD has ended and has not been renewed. Additionally, Paramount has an escape clause in its contract that can be exercised following Warner's departure from the (now dwindling) HD DVD ranks. The article highlights various ongoing commitments both companies have to the format, but we've heard these kind of promises before from studios. It's feeling like a party where everyone leaves at once nobody wants to be the first out the door, but everyone's looking in that direction

Right! It's false now and it was false 2 months ago. That's the point. You're all falling for the HD-DVD propaganda that Toshiba & M$ spew out all over the internet. Toshiba & M$ try to fool all the Middle america Hicks because they know they're not smart enough to decern right from wrong on their own.

Don't fall for more of this stuff. It's your hard earned money that is going to waste. It's not right for us, the consumer, to be played a fool like this. I'm only looking out for us! That's more than I can say for Toshiba and M$.

So you're saying everyone in middle america is not only a hick, but ignorant? The irony is killing me.

How exactly is this HD DVD propaganda? It came straight from warner bros! This wasn't a Toshiba press release or anything. Did you even read it? I'll go ahead and answer that for you. You obviously didn't. Because if you did you would know that the comment actually came from Warner bros senior vice president and general manager.
