Just bought the RCA HDV5000
. Now I was just wondering what firmware version I would need to get the full 5.1 analog Dolby TrueHD Audio? Anyone here know off hand. I am currently downloading the 2.0r from RCA. Is that sufficient? Thanks guys for all your help with my neurotic nit picky selection process. Once I get Dolby trueHD and DTS HD (core only) up and running I will be playing with the big boys Cheers!

2.0 should be fine. I just downloaded whatever was available for my A1 when I got it. Enjoy it Ironbull, True HD thru the 5.1 analog outputs is great.

Ironbull,
If you see this... I'm just curious if you decided to keep your RCA HD-DVD player, or returned it - like some of the others who've posted here recently?

Yes I returned it but I purchased HD D3 on boxing day. Then the Warner news came and I was ready to return it also but I am going to keep the D3! And if Bluray ever comes down in price then I might get a BD player also. I just couldn't return a good machine. If anything I will be able to upconvert the dvds of whatever is on BD for now. Hey if Toshiba has plans and dominates again then its a sure win!!!!

That's great to hear Ironbull. I'm glad you're keeping the player. I love my Toshiba A-1 as well, and hope to enjoy it for many, many years (for HD DVD and great upconversion of SD DVD). -LH (The Loverboy)
