I guess the consumer is finding out that the only thing monster about Monster Cable Co. is their greed. I know it's from a year ago but this is why I won't buy anymore of their products.

Hey Tony, wanna hear something really bad?
Take this with a grain of salt, since I heard this from a friend and wasn't a direct witness...
But my friend said at Future Shop they had a "See the Monster Difference" promotion with a TV hooked up with a Monster HDMI cable, and other TV on a "lesser" quality cable running the same HD loop simultaneously. The difference in PQ was incredible, so my friend looked behind and noticed that the non-Monster cable TV was hooked up with composite!
He apparently complained to the sales person who was giving the demonstration, but the salesperson told him it wasn't meant to compare HDMI cables, but Monster cable compared to what came in the box with your DVD player.
If true, Blu-ray or HD DVD has NEVER pulled anything that deceitful yet. Tsk, tsk.

Monster Cables are ridiculously overpriced. The easiest way to tell if something's overpriced is how much you make on it as a Salesperson. If you make a lot then the item has a high profit margin and the store can afford to pay you more on it. I make about 10% on all Monster cables. Which doesn't sound like a lot but bear in mind I only make 3% on a High end Plasma! So basically Monster can afford to give 10% of it's sale away to me and they still make money. Unbelieveable.

Hey, Monster cable was telling you that it looks terribly different with a Monster cable, and they did!!
However, I should've never bought that $50 HDMI cable at Best Buy
