Are you sure you saw this in a digital theater?

The 3D presentation was amazing. I saw people psychically move out of the way and reach for the screen during the movie.

The detail in the animation was a major step-up from Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, capturing not only the true body movement of actors Ray Winstone, Angelina Jolie, Anthony Hopkins and John Malkovich but the subtle differences in skin tone and texture. Unfortunately the film cost $150 million to make and only took in $79 (domestically) so far.

You pretty much don't like any movie in this genre if you don't like 300, after that statement you have to take what you say about Beowulf w/ a grain of salt.

Beowulf is a pretty good movie w/ some great moments. It gets pretty high on the badass-o-meter when he just goes balls to the wall against some great monsters. Don't expect an epic story on Beowulf then this aint for you, but it is fun and super bad-ass. BTW the animation is incredible.

Beowulf isn't as openly homoerotic as "300" so, really, what's the point?

Not as homo-erotic but it does show our hero Beowulf sleeping, jumping around, and fighting naked. ) of course this is offset by seeing Jolie naked.

Kind of funny considering it's considered the first Epic story in English Literature. The movie was supposed to follow the Original story more closely then past film versions and it sort of did. Until there was one huge departure and liberty taken during the middle. Well at least as an English Lit major I was geeked for the use of olde english during the movie.

Ok now I know you didn't see the movie. Beowulf fights Grendel naked in a room full of men. It doesn't get more "homoerotic" than that.

I expected Beowulf to be an epic (as somebody said above) like Ben-Hur or the Lord of the Rings, not an empty story like 300 (aside from the gore, what else was there to be entertained by? I grew tired of the visuals after five minutes, or was it seconds?).

Again, Beowulf's animation is amazingly good, but the 3D is not.

Mvckalel if you preferred 'Wild Hogs' to 300 than...well what do you even say to that. With that said, I will admit that 300 was a little lacking in plot and relied heavily on it's visual appeal.

I prefer being gored to death by wild hogs to watching '300.' What do say about that?
