Sony to release 98' version of Godzilla, this was one of the first movies that I owned on DVD and I used it later as a reference to set up my 6.1 matix surround using a DD reciever and a prologic reciever. The Blu ray will have 5.1 uncompressed PCM some bonus features include the All Time Godzilla Best Fights Scenes and a "Heros" video by The Wallflowers there has been no word on PiP. It will be released sometime in March.

Where did it say that I as excited, I only said that I used it as an audio reference to configure a 6.1 hook up. Say what you want about the movie but the audio at that time was spectacular. TAKE YOUR TIME WHEN READING A POST!!!!

The marketing geniuses at Sony have probably determined that it is a title that will appeal to many of the 3 mill PS3 owners. They are releasing it simply to get their BD sales numbers up which has been their strategy from day one. Nothing new there. Yes, it was not a great movie, but I kinda liked it. It was entertaining, to say the least. It will sell on BD.

Well StevePro maybe if Toshiba onwed a entertainment company they could do the same and help their format. And if that is the case with SONY than I applaud their effort for getting behind and supporting their format.

A high definition transfer of Godzilla will look almost as good as the movie itself is bad. What a complete pile of garbage that movie was.

The young kids liked the movie because of the flashy visuals & sound f/x. More important -as to the reason why they liked the movie- is because THEY'VE NEVER SEEN the Original Series.
They see the originals & they think it's a pile of antiquated archives, that belong to a museum. Set It... and Forget It.
A matter of perception.
I personally think that 'kids' today, are a bunch of LAZY SPOILED BRATS. That's my perception.
Oh yes. No doubt in my mind that THIS MOVIE is a Disservice to the Legendary Series... represented here, in a form of a DUMB IGUANA.
Long Live the Spears Family... Sixteen-year old sibling of Britney is Officially Pregnant. I love Trailer Trash.

Not a great movie and defintely a disservice to the original series, probably why in Japan they call it GINO (Godzilla in name Only). However it was one of my reference discs for sound on the Original DVD and I never understood why Sony didn't release it on Superbit in the U.S. (it was releases in Europe).
