Luckily all is OK with my briefcase edition bought in Canada. At least those affected this time around didn't receive an HD DVD by mistake again! I bet this happened because of the same "new guy" at the contracted replication plant again put the dolly of spindles in the wrong place. That guy is getting famous!

Hopefully he's also getting fired.
What's funny is if you go to the Blu forums, they're blaming HD-DVD for it. Apparently being dual format is why they package incorrectly. Because that makes total sense.

I told you I had my VHS and Beta tape players sitting side-by-side for years, and one or the other always seemed to have a problem. Now that I've moved the VHS machine to a shelf in the garage, the Beta plays perfectly. I tell ya, these guys just can't get along together. It's like cats and dogs.

It's amazing how much crap this site talks, when you people who prefer HD DVD, don’t even have a clue. Warner Bros made tons of packaging mistakes with their DVD sets, mainly their Superman collection. This is really annoying that Warner Bros is such an incompetent production line however, I don’t believe there is a worker sabotaging Blu-ray, or that they are trying to make blu-ray out to be a poor format to produce and make customers believe HD DVD is the way to go. Their errors are costing them, and I'm pretty sure there not doing it on purpose. For the mean time, I'll just put it out there again, Blu ray continues to out sell HD DVD movies. I know this site hates hearing that! HA! So go ahead and talk your heads off, type what you want, read the blu ray forums, don’t believe a word from the blu crowd. You know, if HD DVD won, and they got rights from Sony, Lionsgate, Disney, FOX, MGM, and others, I would start buying HD DVD. Instead, while companies such as Sony, Samsung, Sharp, Panasonic, and LG continue to make Blu Ray players, I wouldn't put much hope on just Toshiba (horrible TV's), and Onkyo (great audio brand). Well I'm done making my point. Wait, no I'm not.... My Blade Runner's fifth disc on Blu works just as good as the Blade Runner's fifth on HD DVD. Thanks for reading, have a merry Christmas, happy Hanukkah, or joyful Tuesday!

Kris I don't think anyone is saying that Warner is doing this to piss of the bluray folks who are paying some nice cash for their Harry Potter Collection and the Blade Runner 5-disc set.
Like you said this is costing Warner more than just cash to fix these little technicalities. Sometimes you just need to have a sense of humour about things and not take things so seriously.

Warner Bros. is the largest movie studio in the world. They produce something like 30% or more of all the movies released to theaters and on SD, HD DVD, and Blu-ray. The law of percentages suggests, therefore, that they are also going to commit the largest number of errors. It's just human nature. They certainly aren't doing it on purpose to intentionally hurt themselves and lose money. And there's no possibility of turning this glitch of theirs into an HD DVD vs. Blu-ray thing.

Falcon-
If its to have a sense of humor about the situation, trust me, I do. I find this all funny. To think a little over two years ago everyone was buying DVD's and agreeing with each other. Now it's seems like we have added racism, communism, politics on the movies we choose to buy. Red or Blue. Maybe both, that's if we can all get along.

Everytime another issue pops up with Warner and Blu Ray, I just have to wonder.
First it was Potter. Then it's Blade Runner. Heck, Terminator 3 has a 1080i/p problem, too. Disney and Pirates...
I have nothing to back this up, but something is going on. With the HUGE Warner releases the last couple of weeks, I can't help but think they didn't plan properly to get these discs out the door correctly. It seems like a rush job to me.

whoa Kris calm down lol. I don't think anyone here actually thinks Warner is doing this on purpose. I really don't see how giving someone duplicates of the same Blu-Ray disc instead of the correct disc 5 would help HD-DVD at all. Obviously Warner needs to find a better way to mark their spindles at the replication plant.

This is all based on a single email sent to blu-ray.com. It's funny how we never get a total number of customers affected by these alleged blu-ray issues. My fifth disc is the correct Work Prink. I think it's made up to hurt sales.
However the LFE audio issue on Transformers HD DVD has been ignored by Paramount. You buy it you keep it.

An issue that doesn't exist on my disc. Do you think Paramount released two different versions of this movie on HD DVD? It's the only possible explanation. Unless you are passing on rumors.

Well there is a thread about it on the AVS forums.
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=925725
Unfortunately with Audio problems are harder to prove then a bad transfer or a framing issue. Everyone is going to have different equipment and different setups. So what someone considers no LFE someone else might consider fine. For the record I have no problem with my Transformers HD-DVD.
John there is a theory that there are two different lot numbers. 13127 supposedly has no bass and 13128 is ok. I have 13127 and it sounds just the same as the SD version in the LFE department.
