...if you haven't seen Season 3. The whole review is one of the worst spoilers I have ever read. Every detail and secret from the season is completely revealed. If you don't want to have the whole plot destroyed for you, STAY AWAY!!!

Thanks for the advice, I just read the review
...but if I haven't seen a movie/show, I only read the Video, Audio and Extras parts...

So the last episode shows that they have been rescued but may need to return to the island! Damn! I was so looking forward to finding out myself! Now it's just pointless to bother watching season 3.

Tim, that is not funny. You've been funny many times, but THAT is NOT funny in the least.

Wow, I've never seen an episode of Lost, and I still knew that.
Has everyone else managed not to watch a single commercial break on NBC over the past month or two?

The main point is that Dean's review spells out virtually every single plot point in season 3 in his review. That totally spoils the series for any fan who han't seen it yet.
Reviews are intended to provide information on a release in order to try to inform people as to whether to purchase said material is worthwhile or not.
Reviews are NOT supposed to divulge major plot points of a feature, especially where knowledge of these points would diminish the viewers enjoyment of it.
A series like Lost depends entirely on mystery. It is the unfolding story that is key to it's success as a drama. To spell out all of the elements in the story totally undermines the point of watching it in the first place.
If you honestly believe that it is ok in a review to complete ruin the experience for everyone, then you have a pretty sad view of the job of a critic.
Tim's comment above didn't entirely disclose everything that happens in the series conclusion, thankfully. There is more to it than what Tim (or the commercials on NBC) disclosed. On the other hand, Dean's review discloses EXTREMELY relevant plot points. I am glad that I was able to see the season before reading Dean's review, because if I hadn't, I would have been even MORE disgusted than I am now.
Some people think it's fun to spoil things for everyone else by posting spoilers all over the net (the Harry Potter spoiler comes to mind). There is nothing that can be done to prevent people from hijacking everyone else's fun. On the other hand, for a website like this, I think it is extremely irresponsible to print this kind of a review.

**Reviews are intended to provide information on a release in order to try to inform people as to whether to purchase said material is worthwhile or not.
Reviews are NOT supposed to divulge major plot points of a feature, especially where knowledge of these points would diminish the viewers enjoyment of it.**
Actually, reviews are essays expressing a writer's personal take on the film or some element of the film (or, in this case, a TV show.) They are not "intended to provide information" in order to function as a Consumer Guide service: the Video/Audio/Extras sections serve that purpose better.
However, I agree that for something as recent as Lost's previous season, a "Spoiler Alert" should have been provided. Dean probably just forgot to do so, which is unfortunate, but sometimes it happens.

A Spoiler Alert is really necessary here. As soon as possible.
At the sametime though, I have read a few reviews of Season 3, and NONE of them reveal any major plot points. I believe that the majority of readers of a review of new material have not seen the material yet, and are looking for information that will tell them it's worth buying, but not to have the whole story spelled out for them from beginning to end (which is precisely what Dean has done).

BTW, I have just read Dean's review again, and it is truly unbelievable how much of the story he divulges. Astonishing, really. Far, FAR beyond what is required for an informative review. He reveals virtually EVERY SINGLE MAJOR PLOT TWIST. It really is ridiculous.

Well, at least Dean has discovered the secret for getting someone to start a discussion about something other than HD and BluRay.
