the_dvd_chef,

I guess you can't read. Cookson began his career with Warners in 1992 he doesn't change compaines all the time.
You HD DVD fanatics are killing me. You are truly upset about this news. I love it!

Yes, I read it. Of course an exec stays for at least a decade or more with a company, that's normal, in fact, some stay their whole career. If they changed companies every week then it wouldn't be news.

But I think the question here is: why is he leaving Warner? Using your form a vague and sometimes baseless logic one could argue that this is actually bad news for Sony and Warner cooperating.

Just because I point out some very faulty conclusions on your part does not make me a HD DVD fanatic, but your reaction does certainly provide evidence towards the conclusion that you are an anti HD DVD fanatic.

the_dvd_chef,

And I suppose you see this as a sign that Warner is going Blu-ray exclusive... care to explain the logic.

The Person: Richard Bruce "Dick" Cheney, forty-sixth and current Vice President of the United States. Former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Halliburton Company.

The Time: 9/11/01, 8:46 a.m. EST.

The Event: The Iraq War

The Money: KBR awarded contracts in Iraq worth up to $18 billion, including a single no-bid contract known as "Restore Iraqi Oil" (RIO) which has an estimated worth of $7 billion.

Once again,

The Person:Christopher Cookson, President, Warner Bros. Technical Operations.

And so logic follows.

Being a proud New Yorker, I should say that 5.4 Million people die from smoke related causes every year. That's 2000 time a 9/11.

Rediculous conclusion

If it were a Sony exec leaving to run Warner then it would be something to make conclusions about....but a Warner exec leaving to work at Sony...yawn...what's he going to do, convert Sony over to Warner's obvious preferred format which they have blockbuster exclusives on? (aka HD DVD) Doubt it, he probably wasn't too important in daily operations to have influence.

This thread is for people who want to read Sony / Warner Bros. news.

How is reporting a legitimate Hollywood Reporter news story against forum rules? Are you kidding me?

If you find this thread irrelevant, IGNORE IT, it's not for you. Move on. Get lost. See ya later. Don't comment over and over and over about it.

You comment because YOU see this news as troubling news for HD DVD.

I didn't tell you to buy HD DVD. Don't blame me for your purchase with your passive-aggressive bullcrap.
