This review is basically how I felt after seeing the film. I think it would have been better to have done the whole film from the Predator's view points and not follow the humans at all. It looked as though the lone Predator was related to one of the Predators in the Predator's space ship, which would explain why a team of Predators were not send to clean up the mess. He went to save the familiy's honor by killing the Alien's and destroying all the evidence. From this perspective it would have been a much better film. Also the film was a bit too dark and the action scenes which were good, should have been much longer.

If that's the case (was there any evidence of that in the film?), then the script is even worse than I originally thought. There has to be motivation for every single character. We know the Predator's "mission" on Earth is to kill the Aliens...but why?

Bah. Still a crap movie.

Am I the only one who would much rather see anther Alien film rather than Alien vs. Predator?

I don't care how old Sigorney Weaver is, bring her back and let her kick alien butt.

And bring back Ridley Scott too. Or failing that James Cameron at least.

Maybe Ridley directs and Cameron writes? I'd be on board. It won't happen, though. These cheapie-type movies are way too good for Fox to pass up. Scott and Cameron would want some thought put into the story.

Alien and Aliens are the best in their genre (SciFi Horror) IMO, and after that The Thing and Preditors 1 and 2. But after Alien 3 I lost intrest in the series. Alien 3 did have some appeal in that it had a more sense of dispair and hopelessness with the prisoners. Come to think of it after those movies what films in that genre had any sucess? This genre is dead like the slasher film genre.

SPECIES. Only the original, though. The sequels were raped by cliches and T & A's. Don't get me wrong... the original gave us KUDOS skin, but the story was actually GOOD, also. Hats off to Geiger designing the alien.

I liked the potential of Species. I felt that it could have gone deeper into the "who or what am I?" struggle of the main character. The movie wasn't really bad so much as just felt like it could have been a lot more.
