I finally got around to watching this last night. Wow! Particularly on the island, you can see every dead leaf and little stick on the ground way into the distance. This was amazing in detail, although I wasn't much interested in counting the pores and stubble hairs on Tom Hanks face. Not a sign of EE or DNR what so ever. The little sound effects had me looking out the window at least once thinking there was someone outside.
There was ample film grain, especially from the beginning up to the first Island part which was a bit distracting (almost like these were two different film sources), but I will take grain any day if it means not compromising the detail. Amazing transfer for this film. Congrats Fox! Please do as good with ID4!
