Hey, Anyone know if Warner is releasing FORBIDDEN PLANET: ULTIMATE COLLECTOR'S EDITION on BLU-RAY? Now that Warner has pulled out support of HD DVD, it doesn't seem like HD DVD has too long, so I'm going to re buy all my HD movies on Blu-Ray. Let me know!

MICHAELdirector...
I haven't heard anything yet, but would think that several of the current "HD-DVD exclusives" will appear on Blu-ray in 2008, now that the Profile 1.1 standard has been implemented, and they are already "mastered for hi-def". So, a few of the HD-DVD "exclusives" to be released on Blu-ray include:
FORBIDDEN PLANET
CASABLANCA
THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD
V FOR VENDETTA
BATMAN BEGINS
THE MATRIX TRILOGY
...etc
-Love Hendrix! (The Loverboy)

Love,
Of the movies you list, WB will quite probably release "V," "Batman Begins," and "The Matrix" on Blu-ray sometime soon. However, I wouldn't count on the catalogue titles coming anytime soon. PS3 owners are a younger age group than stand-alone HD DVD owners, so WB has to take into account the difference in the market. As I said elsewhere, WB actually sold as many catalogue titles on HD DVD as on Blu-ray, and considering the 3-1 Blu-ray advantage in players (almost 90% of which are PS3s), the studio knows from experience that the money is in new releases appealing to a younger crowd.

Good point John.
CASABLANCA, FORBIDDEN PLANT, and THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD are in the "top tier" of GREAT HD-DVD releases, not only of the feature film, but the so much excellent bonuses included on each - everyone, BUY THESE ON HD-DVD WHILE SUPPLIES LAST!
John, I was hoping for HD-DVD remasted releases of both THE TREASURE OF SIERRA MADRE, and most especially DOCTOR ZHIVAGO, but I guess these won't exist in HD except for a possible future Blu-ray release.
