OMFG! What the hell were they thinking???
Come January first...just a few days ago, none of the ad campaigns stuck! I mean, can you remember any major imact an HD DVD ad had on you? I'm still getting chills over a mutating PS3! I mean, come on...a dork in a business suit...action movies...thrillers...horror and suspense...a dork in a business suit!?!?!?!?

It is from an article on the paid subscription part of Wall Street Journal. The article is from today so the writer of it spoke with Paramount during the weekend.
All this said. They could, at anytime, go in another direction without warning.

View profile »It is only rumor that there is an 18-month deal, and if that's the case it means they put a price on their loyalty rather than making the choice based on what they believe is right...which means if they're stuck in something they wish they weren't then they deserve what they get.
If Paramount starts to release on Blu-ray again before the 18-months is up, then it would be clear they simply "thought" HD DVD was a good idea and for the sake of business they need to support Blu-ray.
It still isn't over for HD DVD. ANYTHING can happen still...we're being toyed with for a reason. Stop buying movies until something happens. Really, this is no time to invest in these technologies. Remember that Ultra-High Definition is still on the horizon as well.

View profile »Forget it. You know how effin' hard it is to get people wraped around the idea of HDTVs? Even NOW? And then yur gonna try and get them on 4K? Grow up. Really, there's got to be some level of reality here. We're AV geeks, pure and simple. If there was a 4k Tv tomorrow that cost less than 10k, i'd snap it up if there was content. But it ain't happening for the rest of the world.
