Are you kidding me, that's reasonable. It reads/writes BD that alone is $600 and it plays HDDVDs? I was thinking a $1000 would be too much.

I agree. At current market value to have an EXTERNAL drive the reads AND writes bluray and also reads HD DVD's is pretty well priced at $600.

Then get an internal one for 300 bux at newegg.com (or ebay).
LG GGC-H20L. It only READS HD formats. But who cares! IT READS BOTH HD FORMATS!
