I don't think I'd want the collection. I like the first Matrix as a stand alone film, but then they destroyed any credibility by making "Reloaded" and "Revolutions". "Reloaded" being the better of the last two, but nothing more than an average, action sci-fi. What really sucked is they took the whole story down the sewer! I really felt the finalization of the story fell flat and nowhere near the inspiration of the first movie.

I'm a movie fan. I don't care about rooting on a franchize, I just care if the movie is good.

I also Agree, Im a huge matrix fan.. Me being a computer tech for 10+ years makes me a big nerd that loves that movie. But I to found the last ones lacking.. The first one was brilliant, but it did slide down hill after that. I would still like to have the whole set in HD, even if the secon and third was reather disappointing compaired to the first..

I had the original 3 Matrix movies on SD DVD and watched them up-converted to 1080p on my Toshiba HD-A35, and on a whim I went back to get the Ultimate Matrix Collection with the 2 disc database add-on.
I am completely blown away by the HD DVD versions, and am glad I spent the extra money to get the Trilogy In HD.
Supposedly Warner will have to take some time to release the Blu Ray edition, as it needs some re-mastering to look right on Blu Ray.
If their re-mastering efforts show some significant promise of improvements, I might even consider purchasing the Blu release as well.
I do agree that the first 2 movies were the best of the Trilogy, and the 3rd installment was somewhat lacking.
The Wachowski Brothers obviously took a significant effort on the first 2 installments, and figured that they could slack off on the third and simply ride on the coattails of the first 2 films.
Well it didn't quite happen the way that they planned.
Unfortunately, I absolutely plan to halt my acquisition of future Warner titles when they stop releasing on HD DVD, as I look at them as back stabbing a HDM format that they indicated that they would continue to support on both formats.
Although I do have a currently defective PS3 that would otherwise play their BD releases, I utterly refuse to purchase anything further from them, especially in the BD format.
I hope that they are listening, I seriously doubt that I am the only one with a similar intent.
I constantly read that they believe that their BD purchase ratio will simply increase in sync with the drop of their HD DVD releases, but I have players for both formats, and their tactics have completely alienated me from their BD releases.
Quite unfortunate, as I will continue to purchase BD titles from other studios for playback on my hopefully soon repaired PS3, but not even another SD DVD title from Warner.

I remember when you first posted on these forums about your PS3 problems. It proved what I already know is true - that you can't make a device handle too many functions and expect it to last as long as something built to do one thing only. After your personal experience, I researched the issue, and it's right along the lines of what I was expecting for reliability.
I visited what I believe is the official PS3 forums and there's people there that had their systems fail within a wk, or a month or two, maybe five months, and as long as 14 months. The biggest issue seems to be coming from the 40gb unit and Call of Duty 4. The worst thing is the bad experiences these people are getting on returns. Also, those who purchased extended warranties (which is what I would do) are not really getting a fair deal - at least at Best Buy. Since Sony seems to be discontinuing the 80gb model, those who had the BB plan are only able to get a 40gb unit. They also have to pay an additional fee to insure the new unit.
You've been a great contributor to these forums, and it's unfortunate what happened to your PS3. As much as I don't care for Sony's console, I do hope you have no further problems and that your repaired console will last a very long time.
