This is so awesome...now if a movie is two hours, I can spend another thirty minutes getting it onto my little handheld so that I can sit with my neck cricked downward for two hours looking at a low res picure and listening to teeny speakers!
So long HD DVD - it was nice knowing you!
Bye bye Blu-ray - we barely had a chance to say hello!

I think these are a great idea personally. Granted my video iPod is not my first choice for place of viewing, but being able to revisit a movie I love on it whenever I like and not having to pay extra for it is a nice incentive. I doubt these will ever be seen as anything other than a bonus for those who purchase legit copies of a film rather than using other means to acquire them. )
As for them being a threat to HD-DVD or Blu-Ray, I highly doubt it.

I think this is a grand step for a more consumer friendly attitude from the movie studios (at least now from FOX) allowing legit consumers to get even more out of their DVD purchases, since their past attitude was for legit DVD consumers to pay again for the same movie, in order to view them on portable devices such as iPods/iPhone.

Well.. I just bought this movie yesterday so... I'll check that out when I can use my own computer.
I guess you can also download it for WMP.

They could put HD DVD and Blu-ray on those discs too and everyone would be happy.

Vista owners may have some problems with this. I tried to go through the Fox Program on the disc and it wouldn't work. So what you have to do instead is open the disc's folders.. find the format you want (WMV for me) Then... drag it to your desktop... open it in WMV... it will ask for the password. Just punch it in... and it will work.
