Skyhawk,

After alot of tinkering I've found a solution for keeping your files where they are so that the PS3 can find them.

1. Make sure that you have the sharing options for your folders checked. Right click on the folder then click on the sharing tab, you should see the option to share this folder, do this for every folder that you want to access on the PS3.

2. In Windows Media Player 11 clink on the Library tab and select which media that you wish the computer to add video or music from the list then click on it then click on Add to Library. The first thing to do here is look at the Slect folders to monitor select My folders and those of others that I can access.

3. Under that you'll see a box with locations that you can currently access on your network. At the bottom of the box you'll see ADD. From here you will need to find the location of the folder that you wish to add. Repeat the ADD process for each folder that you wish to add. When your finished click OK.

4. WMP11 will search the folder for playable media. This will take serveral minutes depending on how much media is in the folder.

5. When finished go back to the Add to Library menu and disable folders in the box that you will not use. Note: Try to get your selected folders at the top.

If this works for you should now be able to access folder on your computer without relocating them into the My Documents folder of your PC. Let me know how this works out. It did for me.

Thanks Tony! I'll be trying that out tonight, as this would save me a lot of grief.

I'm currently watching an MPEG-4 of The Eagles (HELL FREEZES OVER CONCERT) that I converted from DVD and it looks nice on the PS3, not stunning but very good VHS quality. Since you are more A/V tech than I am do you think the PS3 is upconverting my stream from the PC. This MPEG-4 was converted to be used with an iPOD. I played it on my PC and it did'nt look as good as the image on my HDTV. What's your take.

YYYYYEEEEEEAAAAAAA Kucoloco,

Good for you. You just don't know how happy I am for you. Mortal Kombat II? Did you look at the site for themes yet. As Pin Head would say, "We Have Such Sights To Show You".

What are you using to play this file on your PC? It obviously sounds like your PC is doing a worse upconversion than the PS3 is doing. Then again, the monitor display may be more precise than your TV (showing every bad artifact) coupled with the fact you're sitting closer to your monitor in ratio to its size than your TV. Hard to call....

kucoloco, in a few days when you're finished playing on the internet, downloading the free HD clip stuff, playing with different themes, listening to music with the visualizations, and after you've turned every computer in your house into a virtual HTPC accessible from your PS3, I'll remind you that it does play Blu-ray disks as well.

It's rumored that the PS3 also plays games, but I'm waiting until someone posts a reputable link to substantiate that rumor.

It's been coverted to fit a video size 320x240. I use the AVS iPod converter. I think it's version 3 or 4. something. I can't remember. Sky hawk you are so right, after you're finished tinkering around with the PS3 it does play games and you can actually play Blu ray movies.

lol, thanks SkyH. already threw in my spidey3 freebie. performance seems real solid. menus fast, load times great, a few things though.

-picture looks alitte grany. on spidey and some trailers. dont knwo if everything looks the same, waiting on my discs.

-servers to download stuff are slow, something MS has done a good job with the 360

-Even though i like games, nothign really impresses me on the ps3, tried a few demos already. so I was right.
