lets pray that it actually is 'fully functional' in ALL means...

mvckalel, I know your expectations may be high... but don't count on Blu-ray replacing your wife or girlfriend anytime soon...

If Blu does end up winning, I'll be waiting at least a year before getting a stand alone player and it won't be a sony, probably will be dual format player. By then they should have a fully functional profile 2.0 and hope it works properly. Until then I'll keep on getting more HD DVD's.

UK buyers, great news if you're looking to buy a HD DVD player.
Amazon.co.uk are selling Toshiba HD-EP30 for £149.99...

I am not sure what glitches you are talking about. I own a PS3 and over two dozen Blu-rays and have had NO issues of any kind. Although you didn't buy your player in 'beta', you evidently are a first adopter because you bought your HD-DVD player. Now you own a paperweight complete with coasters. Well, that's a little harsh. It is a real nice DVD upconverter.

If only any of the blu-ray players had the balls to replace my cheap and fully functional $98 HD DVD player...or at least the 'capabilities'...

But with no big titles on the calendar in the next few months for red, we wouldn't be surprised if these crazily lopsided sales become the norm. We do wonder how long HD DVD will stay the course if they can't even garner 20% of the movie sales market.

I'm glad that you don't predict things for a living.
good one. lol

Also guys watch what you say? bluray this. if blu wins that.
Bluray is a pretty solid format, once they work out the playback kinks, and lower the prices. I you really like HD movies, and blu matures... and you still dont acept it just because.. then you got issues.
