Not a big Star Trek fan but a space nut.

So, for that sole reason this teaser really kicked a.. in my opinion

That trailer looks good

Personally I like the cast of the original series so much. I'm glad Leonard Nimoy is in it. Spock will always be my fav in Star Trek and I doubt anyone will ever be able to do it better than him.

Well Zachary Quinto certainly can pull off the look of Spock.. I'm just trying to figure out how Old Spock fits into the plot.

It's Admiral Spock's life passing before his eyes just as death comes calling...but it won't reveal that until the end.

I think it'll be on the lines of Spoke being interviewed for whatever reason or like JP said, his memoirs before he dies. This is in order to tie up this "new" crew with the old one. I think is much better to tie them up in a pre-quel sort of way than in a direct sequel. Star Trek is such a cultural phenomena that it would be very hard for trekkies and people in general to accept the new crew in a direct sequel-like story line.
