Yeah, I know a lot of you make fun of the fact that so many zombie movies are on Blu-ray, but I actually enjoy that type of film, even the cheesy indie efforts like the lowly "Zombie Honeymoon". I think I teased my wife for days after we watched that, asking her if she'd still stick with me if what happened to the main character happened to me!

So the subject at hand... I'd really like to see "Return of the Living Dead" in HD... and I think Warner has this one? A complete new restoration would be nice here. Oh, and as I mentioned those old Peter Jackson zombie films... like "Dead-Alive" aka "Braindead". I even found "Bad Taste" to be enjoyable. When Jackson later came out with a very different effort "Heavenly Creatures", I figured that talent with Zombies could be directed to other subjects. The guy is a genius IMO.

Edit: I want the "Re-animator" on high definition too please. Thanks!

WB only owns Return of the Living Dead Part II, and you don't want it because they didn't get the rights to the films original theatrical score so they used the first score ever composed for the film after it was edited and it sucked balls.

MGM distributes ROTLD part 1, but they never put any money behind the first DVD release and subsequent releases.

BTW, I watched Evil Dead II on a rental the other night, and I must say the transfer for such a low budget film really surprised me. And yes, I have the limited tin edition on standard DVD too!

It was a noticeable upgrade for sure, when I really expected only a slight incremental improvement over the regular DVD. To be honest, the film doesn't hold the same nostalgic sense of campy horror it once had so many years go (I think I've watched it too many times), but I was surprised at the quality for such a low budget production.

My wife's favorite zombie movie is the original Evil Dead. She thinks silly humor was forced on the second (remake) and doesn't like the slapstick style. I donno.. perhaps we'll argue about it again later tonight!

I have seen FIDO and to be honest I didn't care for it. I had a lot of high hopes for the film, but in the end it failed to deliver. Tis a shame because Billy Connelly made a great zombie, and Carrie Ann Moss was fantastic as well, but the rest of the cast & the story were so so at best.

I got the remake of Dawn of the Dead on HDDVD. I'd seen in in standard defintion and thought it to be one of the better remakes, the HD looks fantastic too.

I thought the transfer looked good myself, but the HD-DVD has some audio issues. I had to turn my first copy way up just to here anything.

I own Dawn of the Dead (remake) on HD DVD too, but I thought the sound was amazing and one of the memorable things about it. Lots of things going on with the surrounds and front sound stage, plus the ol'sub shakes things up quite nicely at appropriate points - especially that part with the propane tank blowing up. I was impressed with the audio quality. This was using player decoding of the TrueHD track, out PCM over HDMI.

Speaking of Dawn of the Dead, I also own the original Dawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead on Blu-ray. For me, these two movies alone would be enough to make me go duel format! (well the first one anyway).

BTW, I wonder when Re-Animator will be remastered and delivered to us in high-def?
