What does engadgethehd know... You have to listen to it to actually hear the difference. Fall dealer demos 2007. rebranded some of the parts, I honestly believe that Onkyo configured some peices it self.

I did see some HD XA2's for sale on Ebay for $399 U.S. only a couple of days ago. I should have purchased one.

Well like I've said in other threads, my brother has a 605 and it sounds amazing. I also want a HDXA2 I've told Falcon in the past that's the only HDDVD player that I truely want. Toshiba has dropped prices on all HDDVD players except the HDXA2. ReaggieP, I've had 3 SONY HT recievers and I currently have the SONY STR K7000 with 2 HDMI inputs (almost a year old). The only thing is that it's HDMI passthrough the only way to take advantage of LPCM is to go multi channel analog in, but that's not an option with the PS3. I've already have a buyer for the K7000 a co-worker of mine wants it for his apartment.

Kuco I'm getting the Onkyo 805 also in a few months. I know I said I was getting the 875 because it has the Reon chip for upconverting DVD's but I don't really need it since I'm sure I'll get the HD XA2 at some point.

Kuco,

Like John said, that's a large reciever plus I looked at the price tag and got a nose bleed.

Tony if you're good with the 90 watts per channel of the 605 than get it. I can't see another receiver with the same options in that price range.
